The Happy Show (2010)

immersive theater

A choose-your-own-adventure performance site-specifically installed in a building of rooms large and small. Audience members arrive to encounter a troupe of “Happy Makers” who lead them to help enact a collective Ritual of Happiness. The cast of actors, musicians, dancers, clowns, and bicyclists draw audience members into intimate pieces of theater throughout the building, immersing them in a show that is nearly impossible to experience the same way twice. Tonally whimsical, poetic, and eccentric that asks the larger questions, “Why are we happy? What makes us happy?” And, “How long can we stay in this intangible state of being before it fades?”
